What exactly is a shared branch? Basically, a shared branching location is a credit union office that agrees to handle financial transactions for members of other participating credit unions. This means you can complete most transactions at a shared branching location just as if you were visiting UCU.To acces your account at a CU Service Center location, you will need three things: (Where to find your member number) What services are available at a CU Service Center? Through the Shared Branch Network UCU members can:Are there any limits on cash withdrawals? Yes. UCU members have a daily withdrawal limit of $10,000 (in any combination of cash and checks) at participating CU Service Centers locations. Please note: Withdrawal limits may be set by individual CU Service Centers and may limit withdrawals to $500 per day, regardless of UCU's policy.How are holds and deposited funds handled? Depending on the types of checks deposited at the CU Service Centers locations, funds may not be available for immediate withdrawal. Additional holds may be placed by UCU on items member's deposit through the CU Service Centers based on UCU's hold policy, not the Service Center. The CU Service Centers CANNOT remove a hold placed on a member's account. The member must contact UCU to discuss the removal of the hold. Please see UCU's Funds Availibility Policy for further information.How do I locate a CU Service Center location? There are over 6,800 CU Service Center locations available. Are all UCU accounts eligible? Most accounts will be eligible to participate in the Shared Branching network. However, the following accounts will NOT be able to process transactions at other credit unions:If you are uncertain if your account qualifies, please contact a UCU Representative at 310-477-6628 ext. 1. Can I place stop payments on my checking account? No. The CU Service Centers Location CANNOT accept a stop payment request on your checking account. You must contact UCU during normal business hours.How do I find and use a 7-Eleven Vcom unit? CU Service Centers Network is now available at selected 7-Eleven stores that have Vcom units (self-service branch kiosks) where you can access your credit union accounts. You'll be able to perform many transactions you would normally perform with a teller (check deposits, transfers within your account, loan payment by check, loan advances up to $500, recent account information) with the added convenience of doing your banking anytime 24-hours a day! To find a Vcom location use the shared branch locator.Access your account by pressing the Shared Branching button on the Vcom unit. Find your credit union (University Credit Union - CA), slide a debit or credit card which will identify your name, and answer questions from your account to ensure you are the owner. Once completed, you will be asked to select a Vcom PIN to be used for future visits. Keep your PIN in a safe place and do not write it on your card. Does UCU act as a Shared Branch location? The UCU Main Office (located at 1500 S. Sepulveda Blvd.) is now a CU Service Centers location for shared branching. Guest members from other credit unions in the network can now perform select transactions at this location ONLY. This service will NOT be available at our UCLA, Ackerman Branch location.How do I identify a CU Service Center location? Look for the Swirl logo at the entrance of any CU Service Center location.
How do I place a Stop Payment on a check I purchased from a CU Service Center? If you need to place a stop payment on a check you obtained from the CU Service Centers Location, such as a cashier's check, money order or official check, you must contact the CU Service Centers Location where you obtained the check. There will be a waiting period not to exceed 90 days before funds can be released. You may be required to complete an indemnity agreement. Please refer to Fees. |
