Here are some FAQs and tools to help you make the best choice when preparing for your educational future. For more information, contact us by email at email@example.com or call (800) UCU-4510. Please send Good Grades Rebates forms to firstname.lastname@example.org.
1Good Grades Rebate eligible during enrollment: You must achieve at least a 3.0 GPA for the academic term which runs from July 1 to June 30. The reward amount will be a cash reward of 0.50% of the principal balance on your student loan at the time of request. Only one rebate per academic-year, and rebates will be paid after the loan anniversary date each year, if the completed Good Grades Rebate Redemption form is submitted and deemed qualified. No rebate will be retroactive to the previous academic years. You must redeem your reward for good grades within three months after the academic term covered by the loan has ended. To redeem your reward you can complete the Good Grades Rebate redemption form . It is the borrower’s responsibility to complete and submit the redemption form along with a sealed and certified copy of the transcript for the academic term covered by the loan. The form must be submitted annually with the most recent certified copy of the transcript for subsequent years after the disbursal of the loan. This rebate is not available once the loan is in repayment period. A reward may be considered taxable income. We recommend you consult a tax professional for tax advice. If borrower has any loans in default of 30 or more days in delinquency in the academic-year with the credit union, all student loan rebates will be forfeited. If borrower has any share accounts in negative balance other than through Overdraft Privilege in the academic-year with the credit union, all student loan rebates will be forfeited. You must redeem your reward in full in a single redemption transaction. Your reward will be deposited to your membership/savings account with UCU within six weeks after you have completed and submitted the redemption form along with the sealed and certified copy of the transcript.
2Interest Rate Discount provides a 0.25% interest rate discount (subject to floor of 4.25% APR and maximum rate of 18% APR) on UCU private student loans with automatic payments during repayment. If the automatic payment is cancelled at any time after repayment begins, the discount will be lost until automatic payment is reinstated. The reduction is effective the day after the first payment is made using automatic payment during the repayment period. Discount reduces the amount of interest you pay over the life of the loan. The automatic payment discount may not change your monthly payment amount depending upon the type of loan you receive, but may reduce the number of payments or reduce the loan amount of your final payment. Discount does not apply during any deferment or forbearance. UCU private student loans are subject to credit qualification, completion of a loan application, verification of application information, and if applicable, self-certification form, school certification of loan amount, and students enrollment at a UCU participating school.
UCU reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Good Grades Rebate program and the interest rate discount program for future loans or to discontinue loan programs at any time without notice. For details on eligibility requirements, contact us at (800) UCU-4510.
