As we look back on 2025 and welcome the new year, I want to share some exciting updates and opportunities at University Credit Union.
We are excited to share that the UCU Board of Directors has appointed Richard Wada as our next President/Chief Executive Officer, with his first day set for later this month! This marks an exciting moment for UCU as we continue advancing our core purpose: giving everyone in the university community a financial advantage. We’ve continued to give back through volunteer events and financial wellness programs, reinforcing our commitment to the communities we serve. This past year, our team participated in initiatives like food drives, campus pantry support, and our “Here for U Day of Service,” volunteering at local organizations through our partnerships to make a meaningful impact.
We’re also proud to support education through our 2026 Scholarship Program. Applications are now open for student members pursuing higher education. UCU will award multiple scholarships to help ease the financial burden of college and recognize academic achievement and community involvement. Encourage eligible students to apply at ucu.org/2026-scholarship before the deadline.
In addition, we’re featuring some great products designed to help you reach your financial goals. Right now, you can take advantage of high-yield certificates like our Elite Earnings Certificate and Lock & Roll Certificate, both offering competitive rates. Plus, our University Checking and High-Yield Savings accounts make managing your money simple and rewarding.
Looking ahead, our Annual Meeting takes place on March 24, 2026 at 12:00 PM PST. This meeting is a chance to hear about UCU’s financial health and future plans, meet our board and scholarship winners, and to ask us questions about your credit union! You can register here.
