4Available only on new money deposited to UCU. Minimum balance to open is $10,000. Early withdrawal penalties may apply to Share Certificates. Amount of Penalty. The amount of the penalty depends on the term of the account. For certificates with terms of six months or less, the penalty is all dividends earned as of the date of the withdrawal. For certificates with terms greater than six months up to 18 months, the penalty is 90 days' dividends. For certificates with terms greater than 18 months up to 30 months, the penalty is 180 days' dividends. For certificates with terms greater than 30 months and up to 60 months, the penalty is 365 days' dividends. How the Penalty Works. The penalty is calculated on the amount of early withdrawal. It applies irrespective of whether the dividends have already been earned or not. If accrued dividends are insufficient to pay the penalty, it will be deducted from principal.

The renewal term will be closest regular term to that of the initial term at the dividend rate and APY in effect at that time for such a term. There is a grace period of ten days after maturity. At maturity and during the ten-day grace period that begins on your maturity date, you may change the term or balance of your account or make withdrawals without a penalty. The grace period begins at maturity and ends ten calendar days later. This account is non-transferable and nonnegotiable. The funds in the account may not be pledged to secure any obligation of an owner, except obligations with University Credit Union. All rates and terms are subject to change without notice. Rates are accurate as of the last dividend declaration date. Fees may reduce earnings on accounts. Dividends are calculated daily, compounded and paid monthly.
