
2025 University Credit Union Scholarship
The future you’ve imagined is closer than you think.
The University Credit Union Scholarship Program is designed to give you a financial advantage and assist you in the pursuit of academic excellence and leadership. The scholarships are designed to recognize outstanding UCU student members (high school, undergraduate, and/or graduate students) who have demonstrated leadership initiative in addressing educational inequities and are making an impact in their communities.

Available scholarships for 2025
- Al Aubin Advocacy Scholarship
Describe in 500 words or less, how you have advocated, supported, or are helping to alleviate barriers for underrepresented students in higher education.
- Jane Permaul Women in Leadership Scholarship
Describe in 500 words or less, how you have supported, influenced, or shown leadership efforts to eliminate barriers for women in leadership roles.
- University Credit Union Financial Advantage Scholarship
Describe in 500 words or less, how you plan to use or are currently using your education to positively impact your community.

Eligibility
- Must be a University Credit Union member for at least one month and in good standing, or have a parent or guardian who is a member of University Credit Union in good standing. Not currently a member? Become a member today so that you are eligible to apply for next year's scholarship.
- Full-time students who are currently enrolled in an accredited junior college, undergraduate, or graduate program.
- High school students who have been accepted and are scheduled to attend an accredited junior college, college, or university.
- Current GPA 3.0 or higher (based on last grading period).
- Previous UCU scholarship recipients are ineligible for 18 months after last scholarship awarded.
- UCU employees, volunteers, and their immediate family or household members are ineligible.
- Submission packets containing all requirements must be submitted to University Credit Union by February 24, 2025.
Application requirements
The application will include:
- Education experience
- Community service involvement and/or volunteer work
- Activities and awards
- Educational and career goals
- An original essay of no more than 500 words on the topic of the scholarship for which you are submitting an application
- Release for verification and promotion
- Letter of acceptance if not currently attending university or college
- A copy of your most recent transcript

Amount of award
One recipient will be awarded $5,000 for each available scholarship category, regardless of education level, for a total of three scholarships and $15,000 awarded. Awards will be paid directly to the recipients' schools.Application deadline
University Credit Union must receive the completed application, transcripts, and essay no later than February 24, 2025. All submitted applications will be reviewed for compliance with application requirements by the Scholarship Committee of University Credit Union.Awarding of scholarships
The essays will be judged on quality, originality, and content. The winners will be notified by email and will be awarded at University Credit Union's Annual Meeting. Winners do not need to attend the annual meeting to claim the prize.
