We are more than halfway through 2021, and while much of our University Community enjoys a well-deserved break from the rigors of academic life, we at UCU have continued seeking ways to give our members a financial advantage.

Looking back at the last quarter, I am most excited about the expansion of our university community as we welcomed UC Davis. Aggie students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families can now take advantage of the benefits of membership, including our new Official Aggie Debit and Credit Cards. These cards are the perfect way to show school spirit while enjoying secure and convenient access to your accounts. And with the Official Aggie Credit Card, members can earn unlimited rewards points.

Speaking of rewards, we are still celebrating our milestone 70th anniversary with exciting offerings for our members. Right now, new Rewards Cardholders can earn 7 rewards points for every $1 spent. These points can be redeemed for travel, merchandise, Mastercard® prepaid cards, gift cards, and eCertificates for various merchants. In addition, all current Rewards Cardholders will now earn 2 points for every $1 spent on purchases.

Finally, we launched a credit union-wide effort to give back to our University Community members who need it most. For every Official Partner Debit or Credit Card opened between May 1 and September 30, UCU is donating $19.51 to that school’s food pantry or student assistance organization. Why $19.51 per card? Well, UCU was founded by and for the University Community in 1951. To thank our wonderful members for their 70 years of support, it only felt right to give back in a meaningful way.

We truly want our members - whether you are brand new or have been with us for years - to feel that UCU is the place for all your financial needs. Thank you for placing your trust in us now and in the years to come.
