Preventing fraud starts with you

Protecting your accounts starts with staying informed and taking proactive measures to preserve your financial future. We're here to provide you with the knowledge and tools to protect yourself from these potential threats so your accounts can be kept safe and secure.

If you are feeling any doubt or concern about a call, text, or email you receive claiming to be from UCU, call us at 800.UCU.4510 immediately.

Beware of common scams - Los Angeles, California, United States

Beware of common scams:

Fake banking apps: Ensure you're only using the official UCU digital banking app. Scammers can create counterfeit mobile banking apps that closely resemble the real thing. Victims may unknowingly download these fake apps, allowing the scammer to capture their login credentials and gain access to their account.

Suspicious calls: Exercise caution if you receive an unexpected phone call claiming to be from UCU. Remember, UCU will never contact you and ask for your username, password, credit or debit card number, PIN, or 3-digit security code.

P2P scams: Be on the lookout for suspicious activity when sending or receiving payments through Pay a Person (P2P). For example, after sending you a payment, the scammer might call their bank to cancel a transaction by claiming that the transfer amount is wrong or that their account was hacked.

Account takeover: Scammers gain unauthorized access to your bank account by stealing your login credentials or personal information. You can help prevent this type of theft by enabling multi-factor authentication and monitoring your accounts.
